CPAH relies on the community, and that includes volunteers. Here are some ways to volunteer with CPAH.

COMMITTEES

CPAH has four committees that meet monthly. Committees consist of both board members and community members:

Our Housing Committee works closely with our housing team to review our performance indicators and, more importantly, problem-solve and brainstorm through many of the issues that we face in housing development and asset management.

Our Finance Committee reviews our financial statements, reviews the draft budget, reviews our consolidated audit, and makes recommendations to the board for approval or to signal any questions that they may have.

Our Philanthropy Committee supports the work of our Philanthropy Officer, who is focused on fundraising through donor relationships as well as grants and events.

Our Resident Advisory Committee consists of residents from CPAH-owned properties. The committee focuses on issues that impact residents and also has three seats on the board.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CPAH has an active and engaged board of directors.

As a Community Housing Development Organization, at least 30% of CPAH’s board must be either low- to moderate-income or live in a low-income neighborhood.  Additionally,  CPAH actively seeks directors who bring the following specific skills to the table:

• Lived experience navigating housing challenges or systemic disenfranchisement
• Finance and banking
• Housing design, development, and management
• Land use
• Attorney/legal expertise
• Social work and Resident Services

CPAH also values a diversity of cultures on our board, as many of our residents come from different cultural backgrounds.

 WORK WITH RESIDENTS

Community members are welcome to lead workshops, activities and assist with programs. Additionally, providing much-needed resources (like toiletries, homeware, books, etc.) for the young people, older adults, people with disabilities, and families that we house can have real meaning and impact.   

Corporate teams are welcome to utilize CPAH for community outreach and team-building. Opportunities may include organizing and cleaning community spaces or donating and distributing supplies to residents.
